EAODV Protocol for Load Balancing in Ad-Hoc Networks

چکیده
Problem statement: In mobile ad hoc networks there are a number of challenges in providing quality of service routing with energy efficiency and load balancing. Most routing protocols do not consider the problem of load balance. A routing protocol called energy Efficient Ad-hoc on Demand Vector (EAODV) is proposed. It addresses the quality of service issues such as throughput, end to end delay, load distribution and energy. Approach: This study presents a scheme to balance the load with energy efficiency considering both congestion and the nodes energy usage. A threshold value was used to judge if intermediate node was overloaded, variable and changing along with nodes interface queue length around the backward path. Results: The routing protocol called energy Efficient Ad hoc on Demand Vector (EAODV) that is intended to provide a reliable transmission with low energy consumption was compared with Ad-hoc on Demand Vector (AODV) in terms of the packet delivery ratio, average end to end delay, load distribution and node energy consumption. Conclusion/Recommendation: EAODV protocol chooses an optimum path with low energy usage. It provides a better scheme to balance the load with energy efficiency and packet delivery ratio. It can be further enhanced as a secure routing protocol for mobile ad-hoc networks.

LEBRP - A Lightweight and Energy Balancing Routing Protocol for Energy-Constrained Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
A wireless ad hoc network typically refers to any set of wireless networks where all devices have equal status on a network and are free to associate with any other wireless ad hoc network devices in their range. As the nature of these networks, they commonly do not have external power supplies, and each node has a limited internal power source. In this paper, we put forward a new routing proto...

Ad-Hoc wireless networks are self-organizing multi-hop wireless networks. Mobile ad hoc networks have some challenges like the design of an efficient routing protocol. The multipath routing protocol with load balancing provides a solution for the congestion network. Ad Hoc networks are setup as needed since they do not depend on the infrastructure. Ad Hoc networks are self–organizing multi hop ...

In this paper we introduce a novel end-to-end approach for achieving the dual goal of enhanced reliability under path failures and multi-path load balancing in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). These goals are achieved by fully exploiting the presence of multiple paths in mobile ad hoc networks in order to jointly attack the problems of frequent route failures and load balancing. More specifical...

Vehicular Ad hoc networks are a subset of mobile Ad hoc networks in which vehicles are considered as network nodes. Their major difference is rapid mobility of nodes which causes the quick change of topology in this network. Quick changes in the topology of the network are considered as a big challenge For routing in these networks, routing protocols must be robust and reliable. AODV Routing pr...
